MEP(A) Multi Engine Piston

The aim of the course:

The aim of the MEP (A) flying training course is to train pilots to the level of proficiency necessary to operate single pilot multi engine aeroplanes.

Pre-entry requirements

  • The applicant must be a holder of a private pilot licence.
  • An applicant for a class rating for a single pilot multi-engine aeroplane shall have completed at least 70 hours as pilot-in-command of aeroplanes.

Training Syllabi

The course shall comprise:
  • Theoretical knowledge instruction to the PPL (A) knowledge level; 12 hours
  • Flight Training.

The flight training course for a single-pilot multi-engine class or type rating shall include at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of dual flight instruction under normal conditions of multi-engine aeroplane operations, and not less than 3 hours 30 minutes of dual flight instruction in engine failure procedures and asymmetric flight techniques.
