ATPL THEORY

The aim of the course:

The aim of this course is to train pilots who have not received the theoretical knowledge instruction during an integrated or a modular course to the level of theoretical knowledge required for the ATPL.

Pre-entry requirements

  • The applicant shall either
    • hold an ICAO PPL(A) prior to aeroplanes course
    • hold an ICAO PPL(H) prior to a helicopter course
    • be authorised by the national Authority to commence an approved course of training by virtue of previous experience
  • The applicant must have sufficient knowledge of Mathematics, Physics and English to facilitate the understanding of the theoretical knowledge instruction content of the course.
  • The candidate must possess an adequate command of English in both the spoken and written form.
  • A Class I medical is recommended
  • A minimum of 100 hours total flying time is recommended

Training Syllabi

The training syllabus is that appropriate for the issue of an ATPL(A) and ATPL(H) as specified PART FCL
Each complete course of instruction will consist of four modules of distance learning and classroom instruction and a total of 750 hours of training, subject to any credits allowed by the Authority.

Module 1 (INITIAL PHASE)

  • Principles of Flight (POF)
  • Aircraft General Knowledge (AGK)
  • Communications (COM)
  • Mass and Balance (MBL)

Module 2 (VFR NAVIGATION PHASE)

  • Instruments (INS)
  • Meteorology (MET)
  • General Navigation (NAV)

Module 3 (IFR PHASE)

  • Radio Navigation (RNAV)
  • Human Factors (HF)
  • Air Law (AL)

Module 4 (COMPLETION PHASE)

  • Operational Procedure (OPS)
  • Performance (PERF)
  • Flight Planning and Monitoring (FP)

Each Module shall be completed before next module start.

Note: Part-FCL allows for certain credit for previous experience. Please consult our training team for your specific case.
